A Practice Nurse is a trained nurse who provides nursing services to the patients of Norden House Surgery, and assistance to the doctors in the practice in providing general medical services, health promotion, chronic disease management, child health surveillance, female health and minor surgery.


They also provide leadership and supervision to the Healthcare Assistants in the team and work closely with the Practice Manager and Partners in maintaining and developing the nursing service.

Healthcare assistants support practice nurses with their daily work and carry out tasks such as phlebotomy (drawing blood), blood pressure measurement and new patient checks. They may act as a chaperone when a patient or doctor requests one.
